Lesson 7. Student Choice.

Option 1.

The young man came to Christ with the intent to argue, and try to prove Christ wrong.  He didn't come to find out the truth, or to be taught.  Yes, he was following the commandments, but his heart wasn't in the right place.  When it came down to it, he couldn't give up everything to know Christ.  He promised that we would become judges on high, and that we would inherit everlasting life.
I know that God will not ask me to do anything that I am NOT able to do.  He won't allow me to be tempted with something that I cannot withstand.  Even though it might be hard, if I put Him first in my life, I will be blessed beyond anything I can imagine.

It doesn't matter how long we have been members of the church, we all have a chance to receive Eternal Life.  We can always repent.  We all have pasts, but with Christ's atonement we are all able to have the same reward!

Lesson 6. Student Choice

Choice 2.

1. Christ tells them to bless every house they enter.  He instructs them to let people feed them and to heal those they come in contact with.
He also makes the point that all who deny his disciples, are also denying him.

2.  We believe in setting up our church the way Christ would want it.  We sent out missionaries, as they did in Christ's time.  Members also feed the missionaries.  (I didn't know that was actually in the scriptures. hehehe)

3.  The Seventy has been in place since Christ's time.  Christ appointed the 70 to make sure that the gospel was taught the same way all over the world.

Lesson 4. Student Choice.

Choice 3.

1. They were afraid because they were afraid he was a ghost.
2. I think that Peter’s response showed that he trusted the Lord. He wanted to be with Christ, no matter what. If only we ALL had that kind of desire to be with Christ.
3. Peter began to sink because he lost track of his goal. He stopped focusing on the Lord and got distracted by things going on around him, and so he began to sink.
4. He began to be afraid, and he called upon the Lord to help him. “Immediately.” Christ responded immediately, but I think it is important to keep in mind that although Christ did respond DIRECTLY to Peter’s request, he had to wait until Peter realized he needed help. He had to wait for Peter to ask. Only then could he offer assistance. I think this shows that we need to be humble.
5. Our eyes need to be single to the glory of God. When we center our lives around the Savior, we can feel his spirit and be filled with his light. Peter was able to walk on the water by himself when he focused on the Savior, but when he lost sight of the Savior, he began to sink. We are able to get through the storms of life when we allow the Savior to help us, but when we lose track of him, we start to drown in these storms.
