Lesson 4. Student Choice.

Choice 3.

1. They were afraid because they were afraid he was a ghost.
2. I think that Peter’s response showed that he trusted the Lord. He wanted to be with Christ, no matter what. If only we ALL had that kind of desire to be with Christ.
3. Peter began to sink because he lost track of his goal. He stopped focusing on the Lord and got distracted by things going on around him, and so he began to sink.
4. He began to be afraid, and he called upon the Lord to help him. “Immediately.” Christ responded immediately, but I think it is important to keep in mind that although Christ did respond DIRECTLY to Peter’s request, he had to wait until Peter realized he needed help. He had to wait for Peter to ask. Only then could he offer assistance. I think this shows that we need to be humble.
5. Our eyes need to be single to the glory of God. When we center our lives around the Savior, we can feel his spirit and be filled with his light. Peter was able to walk on the water by himself when he focused on the Savior, but when he lost sight of the Savior, he began to sink. We are able to get through the storms of life when we allow the Savior to help us, but when we lose track of him, we start to drown in these storms.
