1. "Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?"
2. The disciples should tell John that Christ healed the sick, made the blind see, and the deaf, hear.
3. John sent his disciples to see Christ so that they would be able to gain their own testimony of His power. They needed to understand that Christ was the literal Son of God, while he, John, himself, was only a prophet.
John the Baptist is considered one of the greatest prophets because
1. he prepared the way for Christ,
2. his mission was to baptize the Son of Man
3. he held the keys of power.
John realized that he would not have as many followers as Christ. John was not jealous in any way, nor did he have an hard feelings towards Christ. We can lead other's to Christ, and not expect any reward or anything for it.
