Paul talked about the many false prophets who were teaching contradictory things about the church. There are many false prophets today, and Paul talks about them in 2 peter 2:1-19
False teachers will
- use clever words and devices.
- will pull you down
- Lust after uncleanness
- Pleasure in unrighteousness
- make false promises.
- servants of corruption
Paul says that it is worse to lose your testimony of truth, after having a firm knowledge, than to never know of the truth.
